With the introduction of communication technologies such as HART^®, PROFIBUS^® and FOUNDATION fieldbus^™ a little more than ten years ago, the barriers between field instrumentation and the systems level began to disappear. The instruments became more intelligent and an integral part of the automation architecture. Endress+Hauser Process Solutions AG maintains an excellent, well-equipped Fieldbus Test and Competence Center located in Reinach, Switzerland.

It supports the open standards HART^®, PROFIBUS^®, FOUNDATION fieldbus™ as well as FDT and thoroughly tests field devices in a multi-vendor environment.

Before they are released for sale, all intelligent devices (HART^®, PROFIBUS^® and FOUNDATION fieldbus™) are subject to rigorous tests regarding conformance to standard, interoperability and where appropriate, interchangeability. Our customers have access to coupling documentation, which explains how to integrate our devices into particular systems. We co-operate with Emerson and Siemens to ensure that our devices are optimally integrated into AMS and PDM. We support FDT/DTM technology as the best way of ensuring.

In order to get the best from a fieldbus device, it must be properly integrated into the customer's control system. Endress+Hauser go to great lengths to ensure that this integration proceeds as quickly and painlessly as possible.
